Unveiling the Spirit of Assam
Assam is more than a destination—it is a landscape shaped by rivers, wildlife, spirituality, and centuries of history.
This 7-day Heart of Assam Expedition with Nomads on Wheels explores the region’s most defining experiences, revealing the many layers that make Assam unique. The journey begins in Guwahati, home to the revered Kamakhya Temple, where ancient devotion and hilltop views overlook the mighty Brahmaputra River.
From here, the route leads into the wild grasslands of Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of the one-horned rhinoceros, where early morning safaris offer close encounters with Assam’s remarkable wildlife.
The expedition continues to Majuli, one of the world’s largest river islands, known for its centuries-old Vaishnavite monasteries, rich cultural traditions, and serene Brahmaputra landscapes. The journey also explores the historic town of Sivasagar, once the capital of the powerful Ahom Kingdom, where grand temples, tanks, and monuments stand as reminders of a dynasty that ruled Assam for over six hundred years.
Together, these experiences create a journey through Assam’s sacred landscapes, wildlife habitats, river islands, and royal heritage, offering travellers an immersive glimpse into the cultural and natural heart of the region.
